Description

The Announcements Module displays a list of announcements or important messages that contain a title and a rich text description.  The sample module on this page shows examples of a couple of different options for Announcement entries. Announcements are ordered from newest to oldest by date unless a view order is specified.

This module allows a number different options to allow for lots of flexibility. The module can be set to only show announcements for a set number of days. This means that if an announcement is older than the set amount of days the Announcements module will no longer display that entry. Like wise, each announcement entry can have a publish start and end date specified. This allows for an announcement to be written ahead of time but not be visible until the specified start date and vice versa, the announcement will no longer display after the given end date.

For the announcements that are set up to include a "Read more..." link, click tracking can optionally be enabled. This provides statistics of how many times the "Read more..." link has been clicked for that particular announcement.

The layout of the Announcements module can also be customized. For example, by default the publish date of an announcement is set to always display. Within the module settings the publish date can either be removed completely or moved to another location within the announcement. In addition, alternating announcements can be given different looks or a separation item can be provided to create more division between each announcement.
